Siemens' Innomotics unit may be sold to Nidec or KPS Capital Partners

Japan's Nidec Corp. and private equity firm KPS Capital Partners display interest in acquiring Siemens AG's Innomotics, a large motors business estimated to generate about EUR 3bn in revenue 2023. The potential buyers have been invited to propose second-round bids for Innomotics, although it is unclear if other bidders are in consideration. While deliberations continue, there is no definitive anticipation of a resulting transaction. The sale of the motors and drives business could be valued at about EUR 3bn. Siemens had carved out Innomotics last year as a legally separate entity with intentions to list it on the stock market or sell it.
